Dog Boarding at No More Kennels
Dog Boarding in Penketh, Warrington
We are always on-site, 24 hours a day, to make sure dogs are never left alone or feeling worried.
At No More Kennels, we believe boarding should feel like a holiday for dogs, not a stay in a kennel. We adore every dog who comes through our doors and want them to feel safe, relaxed, and loved, day and night.
Dogs stay in cosy, fully indoor bedrooms with comfy beds, fluffy blankets, central heating, and air conditioning to keep them comfortable in any weather. Puppies and smaller dogs have their own special nursery spaces and separate outdoor areas designed just for them, so they always feel secure and happy.

A Typical Day at No More Kennels
Morning Routine
The day starts bright and early, with breakfast served around 6am in each dog’s bedroom.
For dogs sharing a double bedroom with a sibling, mealtimes are done separately to keep things calm and safe.
After breakfast, dogs rest in their rooms for about two hours. This helps reduce the risk of bloat, which can be a serious health concern in dogs.
Morning Activities
Once breakfast has settled, dogs head into the play areas, either indoors or outside depending on the weather.
They spend time playing, exploring, and enjoying gentle social time in groups chosen carefully based on size, temperament, and individual needs. Every play session is supervised, and no dog is ever left alone in a group.
Midday Rest & Lunch
Around 11am or 12 noon, dogs head back to their rooms for a rest.
For those having lunch, there’s a little downtime first, then their meal, followed by another two-hour rest to keep digestion safe and reduce the risk of bloat.
Dogs who don’t have lunch still get a good two-hour nap. We know dogs can be more active here than they might be at home, so regular rest breaks help them avoid getting overtired. Some dogs might need a bit more quiet time if they’re feeling a little overwhelmed or have medical needs, and that’s always accommodated.
Afternoon Activities
After their midday rest, dogs come back out to play, often in a different area than the morning. Rotating spaces helps keep the day interesting and provides plenty of new sights and smells. All play areas have beds for dogs who’d rather lounge and watch the world go by.
Dogs are never forced into group play. Some prefer relaxing in their rooms instead, and that’s absolutely fine. Dogs who choose quiet time still get plenty of fuss and attention, ensuring they feel comfortable and loved.
Puppy Care
Puppies and smaller dogs are always kept separate from larger dogs for safety and comfort.
Smaller dogs would only be introduced to larger play groups if this had been discussed and agreed with their owners beforehand, and if it’s the right fit for them.
Evening Routine
As the day winds down, dogs return to their bedrooms to relax before dinner.
Dinner is served, followed by another rest period of around two hours to help keep digestion safe.
Later on, dogs come out for toilet breaks before settling in for the night.
Overnight Care
There’s always someone at the hotel overnight, looking after the dogs, keeping the hotel clean and tidy, and making sure everything is ready for the next day.
Health checks are carried out, and if any dog feels unsettled or a bit homesick, there’s plenty of gentle reassurance and comfort available.
Most dogs are fast asleep after a fun-filled day, but if any dog struggles to settle in their bedroom, there are other cosy spots they can choose, like sofas, chairs, or spare beds within the secure hotel space. Sometimes, simply leaving a bedroom door open so a dog can see out makes all the difference in helping them relax.
The hotel stays safely locked and secure all night.
