Working in coordinator and training roles previously, she is able to help train or new staff, and is a great go to for any of our work experience and training team members.

Laura is currently looking into courses surrounding first aid and dog training, so she is able to continue the best level of care and attention for the pups that stay at No More Kennels.

Alex No More Kennels

Alex

Alex dedicates most of her time to supporting and loving a wide variety of animals. From pampering pups at No More Kennels, caring for exotic creatures at a mini zoo, to nurturing gerbils at home, her devotion to animals knows no bounds. Growing up in a household filled with pets, including a short haired German Shepherd named Antis and three Jack Russells—Billy, Harry, and Dotty—fostered her lifelong affection for all breeds and species.

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, she opted for a foundation year to strengthen her foundation and gain personalised learning before diving into the degree. Her goal is to specialise in exotic animals and conservation, focusing particularly on herbivorous species, with the dream career of becoming a zookeeper to contribute to the care and preservation of these fascinating creatures.

Beyond zookeeping, she aspires to run her own dog hotel, creating a safe and nurturing environment for dogs from rescue centers and overseas. By enrolling in various canine courses, she aims to expand her skills to offer the best possible care to every dog in her care.

Being part of the No More Kennels team is particularly meaningful to her as she strongly believes that no dog should be confined to a kennel all day. The open space environment at the facility, where dogs can freely play, rest, and receive extra cuddles, aligns perfectly with her values. The joy and fulfillment she experiences from helping to create a loving and stimulating environment for these dogs make her work incredibly rewarding.

In every aspect of her life, from academic pursuits to hands-on work with animals, her passion and dedication shine through. Her commitment to animal welfare and drive to continually improve and expand her knowledge ensures that she is making a significant impact on the lives of the animals she cares for. Whether through her future work as a zookeeper, envisioned dog hotel, or current role at No More Kennels, her love for animals is the driving force behind everything she does.

Nathan

Nathan is a dog handler with over two years experience working part time at No More Kennels. After growing up with his own furry friends at home, he has always had a keen interest in the love and care for dogs.

He takes pride in his ability to connect with dogs on an individual level, understanding their unique personalities and needs, making sure they can all have a safe, fun-filled experience!

Nathan chose NMK as the place to fulfill his interest in dog handling as he loves the way the business is built. Recognising it can be challenging for owners to trust care for their fur babies, he was pleased to see how open the hotel is with live CCTV throughout, as well as it having rooms over kennels to ensure all the canine guests are comfortable overnight.

Heather No More Kennels

Heather

Hev has been a part of No More Kennels for 3 years, finding it an incredible experience to work with dogs who provide unconditional love. At home, she cherishes her 13-year-old border collie, Ned, who is her pride and joy, along with three cats: two rescues and Bobby, a gorgeous British blue shorthair. Despite currently having more cats than dogs, Hev has always adored dogs, having grown up with various breeds such as Alsatians, Rottweilers, and King Charles Spaniels. Since joining NMK, her passion for dogs has only grown, turning her from a dog lover into a true dog fanatic. She firmly believes dogs are the best remedy for everything. She also loves NMK’s 24-hour CCTV, mentioning that if her Ned were there, she would be watching non-stop! Hev has an unofficial spaniel club at the hotel, as all the spaniels seem to gravitate towards her and follow her around, even though she insists she doesn’t have a favourite breed.

Holly No More Kennels

Holly

Holly is a dog handler at NMK. She also occasionally assists with supervising and frequently comes in to do the walks. Holly has been working at NMK for just over three years and has enjoyed every moment. She started working there part-time as a college student and is currently working full-time during her gap year. She plans to return to part-time work as a university student.

Working at NMK is a pleasure for Holly, as she finds it heartwarming to see all the happy pups running around. Her favorite aspect of the job is the bond she builds with the dogs; she sees certain dogs every week, and their reactions to seeing her make her heart so happy. Although Holly loves each and every dog like her own, she has a particular soft spot for Labs, especially Kevin, Buttons, and Monty, who have her heart.

At home, she has a dachshund named Frank, who has been part of the family for one year. Despite Frank’s tendency to bark at everything, he has made the past year the best of Holly’s life.

Additionally, Holly cherishes the team at NMK. Working with people who share her passion and love for dogs is an amazing experience. The team collectively ensures that every single dog is happy and well cared for which is so important when you all work together so closely.
